Don't Just Hope for Change, Vote for It!

Get Ready to Vote!

With the 2024 State Primary and our National Election in November fast approaching, Westford residents have several options to ensure their votes are counted. Here's a breakdown of what you need to know:

In-person Early Voting:

Residents can vote early in person on August 24 from 9am to 3pm or between August 26 and August 30 from 8am to 4pm at the Town Clerk’s office.

Vote by Mail:

Applications will be sent to households in the coming weeks. Return your application as soon as possible to receive your ballot on time.

Once your application is approved and you receive your ballot, you can mail it back, hand-deliver it to the Town Clerk’s office, or deposit it in the ballot drop box outside Town Hall.

Please Note:  Mail-in ballots cannot be dropped off at polling places on Election Day.

Changes to In-Person Voting:

If you applied for a mail-in ballot but wish to vote in person instead, inform election officials at the polls. You can still vote in person if:

  • You applied to vote by mail but never returned your ballot.

  • You mailed your ballot, but it hasn’t reached the Town Clerk’s office.

  • Your ballot was received by the Town Clerk’s office but was rejected.

If you already mailed-in your ballot and it was accepted,

you may not change your vote or vote again.

Other Options:
  • Accessible ballot options are available for residents with disabilities.

  • Residents in the military serving overseas may request an absentee ballot.

  • Residents aged 16 and older may pre-register to vote. If you pre-register and turn 18 on or before Election Day, you may vote.

For residents mailing-in a ballot from out of state, officials recommend mailing the ballot at least seven days in advance of the election.

The deadline to register to vote or change party affiliation is 10 days before the election, or by August 24.

Contact the Town Clerk’s office at 978-692-5515 or by email LShaw@westfordma.gov  for questions or assistance.

Help Others Register!

Most importantly, as good neighbors, we have an important role to play in ensuring that our citizens, especially those without internet access, including seniors are registered to vote in the upcoming elections. Seniors are valued community members and we need to ensure their voices are heard.

Please reach out to your friends and neighbors who may need voter registration assistance.

Print and fill out this FORM with them to collect voter registration information.

Then go to this SITE to enter the registration data online.

Don’t Wait!  Registration Deadline is August 24, 2024.
